What can I expect in City Court?
City court begins promptly at 8:30 AM.
Cases are called in reverse order of when the citation was issued.
Court costs are generally $86.50; additional fines my be assessed by the City Judge.
Failure to pay fines and costs may result in your license being suspended.
Failure to appear for court may result in your license being suspended.
What should I do about proof of insurance?
If you did not have insurance at the time of the stop, you probably will receive a fine. You should get insurance as soon as possible, because the state will be checking. Your license may be suspended if you don't insure your vehicle.
If you had insurance at the time of the stop, but didn't have the card, be sure to bring your proof of insurance. You may get off easier!
